Why Build Simpleweight – Defining Simpleweight Success

Back stage, the building of Simpleweight.com. Why did we build Simpleweight?
With any project or goal, we personally like to define our own success. Yes, we are human, and of course we value other people’s opinion, but we really try to rely on our own internal value system.
Consequently, before we started creating simpleweight, we defined how we would know our project was successful. If you look at our pricing structure (only $18/year), you already know we’re not out to make a fortune. In fact if you take into account our referral system ($5 per referral), you are certain we’re not going to make a fortune!
So you ask, why did we build simpleweight.com? Here are our goals for success:
Weight Management Checklist
Ian McKenzie wrote a great self management checklist that we can apply to Weight management.
Ian Writes:
Some people look at self-management techniques as cumbersome, getting in the way of productivity. The truth is, if you look at successful and productive people, you’ll find some type of system guiding them. Give it a try.
1 ) Set Specific Goals, 2 ) Set Specific Times, 3 ) Track your Progress, 4 ) Set Rewards or penalties, 5 ) Take small steps, 6 ) Break it down into pieces, 7 ) Monitor time increments, 8 ) Share your Goals, 9 ) Have a work buddy, 10 ) Review with your buddy, 11 ) Eliminate distractions, and 12 ) Review and rework your system.

Do I really eat 3790 calories a day?

Salad vs. Burger, What Should you pick?
I am amazed how much calories can be added to salads.
The Consumerist wrote about the myth of salads.
The salads didn’t seem to be a whole lot healthier than some of the regular sized sandwiches. Who knew that eating a full portion of, say, the BK Tendercrisp salad would result in consuming 210 more calories than if you’d simply ordered a Whopper Jr.?
It’s a great reminder to us all that we have to be mindful of what we eat. A Huge Cheesecake Factory Salad with bacon, cheese, eggs, oil dressing is still a huge amount of calories. The one benefit, is the salad hopefully has more nutrients with other vegetables, but not always. So, What do you pick a Salad or a Burger?
