Pay it forward – Simple Weight Loss style!

Leo Babauta from zenhabits.net is sponsoring a pay it forward web event, and I am giving away free 12 month simpleweight subscriptions. To learn how to receive your subscription, keep reading.Pay It Forward to bring people closer and restore kidness

What is a pay it forward web event?

The purpose of the event is to bring people closer and restore kindness

To quote Leo quoting Ben Franklin:

Here’s Ben Franklin on this concept:

I do not pretend to give such a Sum; I only lend it to you. When you […] meet with another honest Man in similar Distress, you must pay me by lending this Sum to him; enjoining him to discharge the Debt by a like operation, when he shall be able, and shall meet with another opportunity. I hope it may thus go thro’ many hands, before it meets with a Knave that will stop its Progress. This is a trick of mine for doing a deal of good with a little money.

To Demonstrate the goodness of Humanity, The idea is to perform some act of kindness, but with the intention of never receiving anything in return except asking the person to perform some act of kindness to someone else in the future.

So instead of paying me back, you need to pay it forward.

Leo mentioned he would link to my website if I perform some act of kindness. I don’t know if he will or will not link to me.
(Leo if you’re reading this and you do choose to link to my fantastic simple weight loss site. Thank you.) Regardless, I plan to participate.

What do I have to give to fulfill my act of kindness?

  • First, I have some positive inspiring comments I can give to my family and friends.
  • Second, I have some stuff (clothing, home furnishings, technology items) I will bring to the local goodwill.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle to clean the environment
    .
  • Finally, I will give free 12 month subscriptions to use simple weight to the first 12 people who leave a comment on this post describing how they will use our website to better handle their weight management goals.
    (I recommend SMART goals).

What do I ask in return?

  1. You truly need to dedicate yourself to using the site. We want you to reach your weight management goal. Using the site can be as simple as entering your weight weekly or tracking exercise habits daily.
  2. Of course, I will trust you to pay it forward and help someone else down the road.

I know you do not want to be the Knave to stop the progress of random kindness.

Remember, weight management is as easy as food in = food out.

  2. Hi, I just followed the link from Leo’s site to yours. Simpleweight looks like a very mindful way to create positive changes in my approach to eating. I would love a free subscription and would most certainly be inspired to fully commit as well as pay it forward! Peace!

  3. Ditto what Laura said above ~ I found you via Leo’s Zen Habits site, and yours appears to be a wonderful site as well. I would gratefully accept a free subscription, and as I am very mindful about living my life paying it forward (well before there was ever a *pay it forward* movement), you can be assured that your generosity wil indeed be payed forward many times over.

Regardless of whether or not I receive a free subscription, many thanks! :-)

Wishing you a season (and a lifetime) of love & peace,
    Trixi

  4. Great idea. I also find that acts of kindness are generators of life, hope and love. Thanks for this generous offer. I am a volunteer in my community and know that my work is highly valued by the community. In addtion to that it is a buzz to be of service despite some long arduous days. It’s interesting how being of service is so rewarding.

  5. I found you through Leo’s website. I agree that much of what we get out of life is based on what we give. I would love a free membership and will certainly continue to pay it forward.

  6. Hi- I also came here from zenhabits, and I love your site and your plan. Although I’m the 8th commenter, and although I truly appreciate your generous offer, I’m going to pass on the free membership and after the 30 day free trial, hope that I will remain committed enough to pay. I feel the cost is so reasonable, I can afford it, and maybe someone else needs the free membership more than me. But thank you!

  7. Brad.

Thanks for passing on the membership and from clicking from zenhabits. If there is anything we can do to help you meet your weight management goals, please let me know.

We try to make Simpleweight an economic, yet valuable alternative website for weight management.

For everyone else, I have sent the free membership information. There are still a few more opportunities for anyone to take advantage of the 12 month free subscription.

  8. Hi Scott. Just found your site through Zen Habits and I think your site is great. I am very interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and if your generous offer is still open, would love to try your program out.
Thanks so much for doing this!

  9. This “Pay It Forward” is a new idea for me, but it rings true. In Islam, there are concepts of “Ikhlas” (yes, you can do the Arabic phlegmy thing on the kh) – sincerity; “Tawaadhu” – humility and “Ikraam” – generosity.

Got here from Zen Habits. Don’t ya just love Leo?

  10. Hello, This is Mary

I am 36 years old with 2 toddlers. My youngest just started day care last week- which still feels a little strange. I haven’t had this much time to myself in years. First thing I want to do is lose the extra pounds I put on during the last pregnancy. One of the girls next door has suggested I join her walking group two days a week. After my first pregnancy I lost around 35 pounds using the Herbalife products, but when I called the man that sold them to me three years ago he told me this week he doesn’t sell them anymore. He told me to look on the internet. It’s disappointing because he was really nice and he called me regularly to make sure I was using their products correctly. It was nice to have someone checking in with me every week to see how I was and it kept me motivated.

I searched on the internet for someone that sells Herbalife in New Jersey. I found many websites but I don’t want
just to buy the products, I want to find someone trustworthy that sells the products so I can also meet them and get started again.
Could anybody here recommend someone in New Brunswick?

    Thanks, Mary

  11. I am most interested in the pay it forward concept and would love a free subscription. Thank you!

  12. Steph, Mohammed, Mary, Suzanne,

I’ve given you all free accounts. If you do not plan to use the free 12 month accounts, please let me know I will give the account to someone who plans to. Thanks and again, if there is anything we can do to help you achieve your goals. let us know, and we’ll do what we can.

Mary. I don’t really know anyone that sells Herbalife in New Jersey.

3 more free Premium subscriptions available. After that, you’ll have to sign up for a ad-supported subscription.

  13. Hello, I found your website while searching simple weight loss. I have struggled for several yrs with my weight and really need to lose since I have had 5 knee replacements and I am only in my early 40′s. I have had over 30 surgeries on one knee and when I had my first replacement I started gaining weight and haven’t been able to get it off. Recovering from knee surgeries can put a lot of weight on a person. If you have any subscriptions left I would love one.

    Thanks
    Sandy

  14. I found you through Leo’s site as well. I would love a membership and will definitely pay it forward!

  15. I came across you site and would like to get you opinion on Weights Metronome. I am using it for slow weights training, abs, etc. I changed to a slow controlled training I think I am getting better results with less weight and less stress on my joints. I am trying to convince my friends as well but no luck there.
