Simpleweight About Us

The simpleweight tools and philosophy is created and managed by two brothers, Ryan and Scott. We are both software architects and consultants who desired a better solution to their personal diet and weight management.Simpleweight owners, Scott and Ryan, apple picking.

After trying various online and offline weight management tools, we felt there is a better way to manage ones’ own weight whether for weight loss or weight gain. We conceived Simpleweight in concept during 2004. We are spurred to action to help people out there looking for a life long change toward healthy eating and weight management. Not to mention, we both wanted to lose a few pounds ourselves.

Our goal is to create a simple website to make tracking your weight, exercise, and food simple. Notice, we don’t say easy. Weight management is not easy. It takes work and practice to managing your weight easy, but we can always make it simple. Simpleweight is created to be the only weight management tool you will ever need for the rest of your life. It is meant to be a long-term tool with an emphasis on trend analysis and weight management best practices.

I (Scott) have weighed myself daily and tracked my weight since Jan 1, 2001. Throughout that time, Both Ryan and I have tried different pay and free software systems both web and windows diet applications. Nothing provided a simple interface for a good value. Most commercial websites for weight loss were too cluttered and difficult to use. They offered a bunch of features I did not need or want. I ended up not using them and wasting money. Most free websites and weight loss applications were too unpolished and bombarded me with advertising. I needed something simple.

I did a further search, and I found the HackDiet tools. I was able to lose 30 pounds following the HackDiet. Unfortunately, I gained about 20 pounds back. Why? I stopped using the excel hackdiet tools, because I got tired of excel and the difficulty of tracking my Food In. I still weighed myself everyday and wrote down the number which gave me a mental trend, but it was not concrete. This mental trend was not motivating enough and I lost track of my Food In = Food Out equation.

Ultimately, I needed a more flexible and simple-to-use system to help me with managing my food. Now that Ryan and I created simpleweight, I have starting monitoring my Food In and Food out and monitor my trend analysis which has helped me to get back on track to reaching my weight goals. I encourage everyone to join today to help yourself manage your life-long weight. As Ryan and I see it, Weight management is not easy, but it is simple especially when you simpleweight!
